HUNTED Soul Shards Guide

Collect soul shards in HUNTED with safer route loops, better map checks, and a clear boundary between official streak goals and unverified totals.

Soul shards are the core collection objective described on HUNTED’s official Roblox page. The reliable way to collect them is to build short loops, check the map at safe moments, and preserve an escape route before taking a shard in a dead end. Exact totals, spawn behavior, team sharing, and streak-break rules can differ by map or version and are not published in the public API, so this guide focuses on decisions you can reproduce.

Prepare the run

Use graphics settings that keep corridor edges, intersections, pickups, and warnings visible without making movement unstable. Keep sound on at a comfortable level; the developer recommends headphones, and threat audio can give you information before the monster is on screen. HUNTED also warns about flashing lights and loud noises, so adjust or stop if those effects are unsafe for you.

Before leaving the start area, locate the objective counter, map display, and any visible exit or return marker. Controls vary by device, so confirm movement, camera, sprint or mobility action, and interaction prompts in the live client rather than copying a keyboard layout onto mobile or console.

Build a collection loop

At the first junction, choose one side and clear it systematically. Keep a mental anchor such as a lobby door, colored wall, large prop, gate, classroom sign, or other distinctive landmark. When two branches reconnect, finish the smaller branch before committing to the next area. This reduces the number of unchecked directions behind you.

Look at the map at junctions and wider spaces, not while running blind through a narrow corridor. A shard near a dead end is safe only if you know where the monster is or have enough space to leave. If pressure arrives, abandon the pickup, return to the last known loop, and approach again from a different side.

Do not zigzag randomly between visible shards. Random turns create overlapping routes and leave isolated pickups that are hard to locate later. A clean sweep gives you a useful recovery question: “Which branch of the current loop is unfinished?”

Protect the 100-shard streak goal

Roblox’s official badge list includes Shard Enthusiast, described as getting a streak of 100 shards in Monkey Business. This confirms the map, goal name, and number. It does not publish what ends the streak, whether teammates affect it, or whether a failed run preserves any part of it.

Treat a streak attempt as a dedicated run. Avoid unnecessary challenge conditions, learn the first safe loop before chasing speed, and watch the streak display after damage, capture, death, or a transition. If the number resets, record the exact event that preceded it. One observation is a clue; repeat it before treating it as a permanent rule.

For the badge, verify success on your Roblox profile after the run. A counter reaching 100 is useful evidence, but the official badge award is the final check.

Respond when the monster closes the route

Your first choice should be position, not another shard. Turn toward a junction with two exits, use the map only if the path is readable, and avoid entering an unexplored dead end. Keep the monster behind your movement line when possible, but do not assume behavior, speed, or line-of-sight rules from the original Dark Deception; HUNTED adaptations can differ.

Audio, distance, and the shape of the corridor are more dependable than a memorized timer. If a monster appears to cut across a loop, shorten the loop and test again from a wider area. If the current map contains lockers, gates, cameras, illusions, or other stage mechanics, use the matching map guide and current prompts rather than treating every level as Monkey Business.

Solo and group collection

Solo play makes your route decisions easier to evaluate because every missing branch and every threat response belongs to your run. Group play can help with confidence and awareness, but public sources do not settle whether all counters, streaks, or shard credit are shared in every mode.

Before committing to a group badge attempt, compare your counter with another player’s after the same pickup. If the values behave differently, plan around personal progress. If they match, do not immediately assume all maps and modes share the rule; verify the current stage and version.

Recover a nearly finished map

When only a few shards remain, stop expanding the route. Return to the last complete loop, inspect side branches in order, and look for vertical or visual separation that made two corridors seem connected when they were not. Use the map to identify isolated spaces, then approach with an exit plan.

If the counter appears stuck, check whether the remaining objective is a shard, gate, ring piece, exit, or other stage-specific action. Official badges confirm that some maps add separate conditions—such as gates in Stranger Sewers—but they do not prove those challenge conditions are required for every normal clear.

After a defeat, decide whether the loss came from route overlap, map-reading exposure, audio awareness, or committing to a dead end. Change one part on the next attempt. Repeating the same full route at higher speed usually repeats the same blind spot.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Staring at the map while moving through an unsafe corridor.
  • Taking every visible shard without tracking how the branch reconnects.
  • Assuming an original-game monster route or speed applies to HUNTED.
  • Spending a revive before learning whether the route beyond the capture point is recoverable.
  • Chasing an S Rank and a new challenge badge before you can clear the stage consistently.
  • Treating a community shard total as official when the live objective shows something else.

What remains version-sensitive

The official description proves that soul-shard collection is central, and the Shard Enthusiast badge proves a 100-shard streak in Monkey Business. Total shards per stage, pickup placement, respawn rules, shared credit, streak failure, checkpoints, difficulty differences, and completion transitions still need current in-game testing. Keep the live counter and objective above any undated list.
